In the dying moments, sheer ecstasy broke out for Chelsea and caretaker boss Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández forced home a last-gasp equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola howling at the heavens and provided the stand-in Chelsea manager a career-defining moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane was the Premier League's greatest managerial mismatch, making the recollection of Fernández's crucial intervention one to cherish the 40-year-old for years to come.

A Stark Contrast in Pedigree

On the home bench was the era's defining coach, a man with an unparalleled CV for football's giants Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, overseeing his 1,012th match. In the visitors' dugout, was a former coach at lower-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had worked in City's own academy and stepped up to make his senior managerial bow after being seconded from his regular role overseeing Chelsea's youth teams.
